About Isfahan
I am Liam Kazar, a musician who has been quarantined and off the road for months due to COVID-19. Before music, cooking was my first love. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately, exploring the food of the Armenian diaspora.
My ancestors left Armenia during the genocide in 1915. They traveled through Syria, Lebanon, and Marseille, France. Ultimately, my family ended up in America, and our food adapted to include the flavors and methods we encountered along the way.
The name Isfahan comes from a city in Iran with one of the oldest and largest Armenian quarters, dating back to the 17th century. Isfahan is also my favorite Duke Ellington tune.
Isfahan is a unique feast to be enjoyed at your dinner table. My goal is to bring a little joy into your home, and to introduce you to the gorgeous cuisine of a region at the crossroads of the world.
